Immediately to the left of the bell tower entrance doors is a quatrefoil brass panel mounted on marble which relates to the 1888 building program and bears the following:

"This tower, and the chimes were erected by John W. Baker and Henrietta A. Baker. Christ's faithful soldiers and servants unto their life's end. Dedicated November 1888."

In their ardent service to Trinity Church, John Wager Baker and his wife, Henrietta Adams Baker, through their sincere and generous offer in 1887 to build the tower and provide the bells, initiated a congregational energy that brightened Trinity's life and community stature for many years thereafter. Their works are evident in many places in the church.
