"Episcopal 201" Prepares for Confirmation/Reception

All those considering being confirmed or received into the Episcopal Church are invited to attend Episcopal 201, a four-week examination of Christian faith and practice. Guided by Trinity’s clergy, participants will engage in a deep study of Christian doctrine concerning God, Jesus Christ, the Trinity, and the nature of faith. While these classes are intended as catechetical preparation for those preparing for confirmation and reception, they are also open to anyone seeking a deeper understanding of the Christian faith.

Episcopal 201 will be held immediately following our regular 10 AM service on May 5, May 19, May 26, and June 2. Contact the Rev. Justin Gabbard for more information.

Our Bishop Provisional, the Rt. Rev. Mark Van Koevering will perform confirmations and receptions when he visits Trinity Church for the celebration of Trinity Sunday on June 16, 2019.

Film Screening

On Friday May 3, Trinity Church will host a special screening, The Legend of Stan Bowman. The film is being produced by Emily Baglien and John Lucas and is inspired by John’s first book The Bravest of them All, highlighting Covington's Stan Bowman's rise to fame.

Stan Bowman burst onto the auto racing scene with an historic victory at the Eldora Speedway in 1962 against the likes of Parnelli Jones, Johnny Rutherford, and Jim Hurtubise. Bowman was well on his way to becoming the first local racer to have a legitimate shot at winning the Indy 500. Ultimately, a tragic accident paved the way for Mario Andretti’s rise to becoming an icon in auto racing.

The film and book include interviews with racing legends such as Mario Andretti, Johnny Rutherford Tony, Stewart, and other local drivers.

The screening will begin at 7:00 PM on Friday, May 3, 2019 and is free to the public.
