The previous article was incorrect in stating that there will be no Wednesday service. There WILL in fact be a regularly scheduled Wednesday service this week. The rest of the announcement was correct and appears below.
On Sunday, Feb 28th the Rev. Jim Leo will lead the 8 and 10 AM services. The annual meeting with the review of the budget will be held immediately following the 10 AM service. On Wedensday, March 3rd our new interim rector, Nicollette Papanek will lead her first service.
Trinity’s Prayer Shawl Ministry is one of the groups that Gail Pennington facilitated during her tenure as Christian Formation Director. Recently we met to honor the role that Gail played in getting the group going.
We meet monthly, normally the 3rd Monday, to knit, talk and enjoy supper together. The shawls are labeled, washed, blessed and given to those we learn of who are in need of comfort.
Some members of our group are also working on needlepoint kneelers in memory of parishioners. This is a productive, thoughtful and gregarious group that welcomes new members!
More than 350 people packed into the sanctuary, the hallways and the May room to bid Joe and Gail a fond farewell after more than 20 years. The service was presided by Bishop Sauls and was mostly upbeat with a few tears. They were presented with an official proclimation from the Vestry recognizing their dedication and serivce, a gift from the church members as a whole and a scrap book the included memories from the last 20 years.
But then the party was on. The celebration was a wonderful opportunity to thank Joe and Gail, remember old times and get an idea of what they have planned for life after Trinity. After a few hours, Joe and Gail were serenaded out to a custom version of"Thanks for the memories" and then a dixieland "When the saints go marching in"
